Our Organization
TechHope Transitions (THT) was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2023 by a coalition of Ukrainian-American IT professionals and business leaders who understand the challenges faced by their Ukrainian counterparts due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
The war in Ukraine has gravely affected women and girls, leading to widespread vulnerability and adversity in various aspects of life, including professional challenges. Recognizing the specific difficulties faced by Ukrainian women, particularly in the technology sector, THT has initiated a targeted effort to empower them. By concentrating on elevating Ukrainian women in the global job market, THT aims to address the gender disparity exacerbated by the current crisis, with a specific focus on the IT industry, where Ukrainian women—including participating veterans, can leverage their skills and expertise for professional advancement and resilience.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a world where Ukrainian women, IT professionals, have the opportunity to reach their full potential regardless of the circumstances. We aim to foster a transformative environment for women in IT through the establishment of nonprofit incubators at Ukrainian universities and professional settings, designed as hubs of innovation, support, and advancement for women in this marketplace, enriched by the collaboration with US IT firms.
This not only benefits Ukrainian women and their families by improving their quality of life, but it also benefits U.S. businesses by providing access to a huge pool of talented and experienced IT professionals, potentially reducing hiring costs and increasing productivity.
Our pioneering nonprofit incubators are a crucial part of which involves driving a cooperative initiative with US IT companies, that ensures a flow of expertise, resources, and real-world project opportunities from the US to Ukraine. It enhances the incubators’ capacity to offer cutting-edge training, mentorship, and industry insights, thereby significantly boosting the prospects and capabilities of Ukrainian women in the IT sector.

-

Current State of Ukrainian Women Affairs
The enduring war in Ukraine has rendered millions, especially women and girls, vulnerable. The multifaceted consequences are profound, affecting lives, professions, and societal norms. Ukrainian females are confronted with unique, war-aggravated challenges that traverse professional and personal realms.
-
Loss and Displacement: The majority of the 6 million who fled Ukraine, and 5 million internally displaced are women.
-
Livelihoods: The economic turmoil has heightened unemployment, especially among women.
-
Gender-based Violence: An estimated 1 in 5 women are at risk of experiencing gender-based violence during the war.
-
Increased Care Burden and Discrimination: The amplified care duties and heightened workplace prejudices are compromising professional prospects for women.
